STRESS!
Real Estate is Stressful!
Most agents and brokers, that do regular amounts of business, can become numb to the stress buying or selling real estate can have on clients. As we are in and out of dozens of homes every week with offer deadlines here, showing restrictions there, open house this or that, it’s a lot of information to keep track of in the fast-paced, seller’s market we’re in.
With the number of active buyers in the market and the perpetually limited inventory of available homes, it can be a frustrating experience for agents and buyers alike. Our goal as agents is to get you into a home that you love and when we struggle to do that in a timely manner, we get frustrated. And we understand that you, as buyers, also grow frustrated navigating the seemingly endless demands of sellers only to have your perfect offer rejected in favor of one even more outlandish.
Frustration is one thing but the stress and array of other emotions that can be dug up throughout the process can be a lot to handle. Buying or selling a home is a big deal - don’t let anyone tell you it’s not. It’s emotional; you have memories in your house, maybe your kids grew up there, possibly you’ve lost a loved one while living there, maybe you’ve simply not bought or sold a property in many years. Whatever it is, we’ll be here for you in any fashion you need.
Recently, my wife and I wrote an offer on a home we were excited about. I was quickly reminded of how emotional this process can be as I felt butterflies in my stomach before putting together and signing the offer. Questions flew around my mind: Are we spending too much? Is the offer aggressive enough to be considered? Is the house actually a good fit or are we falsely excited by the idea of something different? I second guessed our plan and all of the research I had done about the property. Being a broker, and someone who lives real estate daily, it was a surprising and humbling experience that proves to me that no one is immune from the stressful and emotional toll of a real estate transaction.
This is why it’s important to have a dedicated agent on your side to help wade through the feelings and keep the long-game in perspective. Someone to gently remind you of your goals and to lend an ear when things get tough. We want to be your rock; so, when you start to question your own convictions, get frustrated and stressed, or are worried about making the right decision, bring it to us.
We’d love to talk things through to make sure we’re getting you where you want to grow.
